Women’s Initiative groups were created in 12 municipalities villages of Samegrelo region. Active female representatives of the communities were trained on gender, CPA, business and project design issues and were encouraged to work on revealing local problems. Besides all initiative groups were given the opportunity to submit community projects and best ones will be selected and granted.

“Consulting Services for Implementation of accompanied measures for socio-economic integration of IDP communities”

The objective of accompanying measures is to assist the beneficiary communities in the socio-economic integration processes. Particularly, the accompanying measures are designed to support the new households to establish household associations (HA) as community based organizations and organize activities aimed to achieve multiple effects through the same like (i) develop a sense of community ownership, (ii) sustain investment by improving maintenance, (iii) create jobs,  (iv) create economic units capable to generate income.

Objectives: 

  • 4 Household associations are registered according to Georgian law (according to the legal status proposed by contracted Consultant);
  • Three (3) office/workshop are established and operated by HA (Kutaisi, Poti, Zugdidi);
  • Maintenance units are formed in each of the 4 selected locations (Tskaltubo, Kutaisi, Poti, Zugdidi) and operate as independent units with the capacity to generate income and ensuring the maintenance of the facilities where IDP communities are accommodated;
  • The building maintenance is ensured and the living environment of the IDPs is sustainably improved;
  • In total 3 offices and about 15 jobs are created and local offices of HAs are financed with start-up operation budgets for the period of Consultant’s contract assignment.
