Civil Society Initiative: Sustainable, Open and Accountable Civil Society Organizations for the Development of Georgia

Atinati is implementing the project "Civil Society Initiative: Sustainable, Open and Accountable Civil Society Organizations for the Development of Georgia" (2021-2025), funded by the European Union and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. The project aims to strengthen civil society as an independent, sustainable, transparent and accountable actor across the country.

The project is implemented by a consortium led by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) with the following NGOs: Georgian Center for Strategic Research and Development (CSRDG), Civil Society Institute (CSI), Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) and European Policy Institute (IEP). 

In order to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of the activities planned in the project, as well as to share experiences and promote regional networks, regional hubs continue to operate in 10 regions of Georgia (established under the project “Civil Society Development Initiative” /CSSIGE, 2017-2020/). Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti regional hub has been represented by Atinati since 2017.

In addition to supporting the activities envisaged by the consortium project, the regional hub provides individual mentoring and telephone consultations to start-up/ beginner civil society organizations (CSO/CBO) and initiative groups; Promotes collaboration and experience sharing with civil society organizations through Job Shadowing; Conducts online study visits to Georgian and European civil society organizations; Organizes discussions on topical and important topics for civil society; Supports the involvement of young people in public life; Introduces multi-sectoral cooperation practice and popularizes it in the municipalities of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region; Supports newly established civil society organizations and promotes their motivation; Prepares radio programs on current civic topics and launches on the air of Radio Atinati; Engages in the promotion of volunteerism in different age groups, and more.
