Program Name:

Promoting Integration, Tolerance and Awareness Program in Georgia  (PITA), funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is being implemented in Georgia by United Nations Association of Georgia (UNAG)

Program Duration: 2015–2021.

Target Cities:

Tbilissi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Batumi, Gori, Dmanisi, Gardabani, Marneuli, Akhalkalaki, Akhaltsikhe, Ninotsminda, and Telavi. 
Project Aim: The program aims to raise civic awareness about tolerance and diversity, promoting civic engagement of young people and strengthening non-governmental organizations, combating discrimination and hate speech.

Target Group: 

Age group of direct beneficiaries:  ages ( 18-25 ) (It is possible to involve younger people as indirect beneficiaries).

Tasks: 

# 1: National Integration strengthening in Georgia;
#2: Strengthening non-governmental organizations in the areas of civic engagement and diversity management. 
# 3: Functioning of youth civic centers on the base of non-governmental organizations;
# 4: Promoting relationships and cooperation between young people from different regions;
#5: Encourage raising public awareness and national discussion.

Activities according to the tasks:

•    Implementing educational, exchange and other programs to promote relationships and cooperation between young people from different regions;
•    Use regional and national media resources to encourage raising public awareness and national discussion.
•    Delivering micro-grants to young people; 
•    Advocating for local civic activism and addressing local needs by young people;
•    Annual meetings / conferences;
•    Internship opportunities;
•    Orientation trainings for employment;
•    Cooperation with the private sector and academy;
•    Trainings, seminars; 
•     Simulation games; 
•     Youth campaigns.
